LYRICIZE WORKSHOP
I’m very excited to announce Lyricize 2021 Summer Session beginning August 1st and running every Sunday in August — 5 sessions in all! (8/1 8:00pm, 8/8 11:00am, 8/15 8:00pm, 8/22 11:00am, 8/29 11:00am — N.Y. time)
Previous sessions have focused primarily on inspiration, identifying the inner voice to express one’s unique perspective, avoidance of cliches, using everyday objects or environment and weaving it into a story, using word imagery to express emotions, analyzing various artists’ lyrics, etc.
This time, we are going to focus primarily on the technical aspects of lyric writing: finding flow of words to fit over melodies, use of consonants and rhyming, structures of lyrics as a whole, etc.
I’m also excited to share a special guest speaker who has worked in music publishing for decades to give us tips and his perspective from the business end, something that is not often discussed in these type of workshops.
Cost is $20/session, $80/all 5 sessions.

Winter Sessions 2021
Formerly called Storyteller’s Workshop NYC and after a long slumber due to the Covid crisis, I am excited to announce a new workshop which will be completely conducted via Zoom. The Winter Session will entail 4 hour-long sessions every Sunday at 11:00 am during the month of February. Inspirations, breaking out of clichés and habits, telling your stories and perspectives, finding the poetry particularly in such troubling times as many of us are currently experiencing, lyrics to connect with your listeners — they are but some of the subjects we will cover.
I’m also excited to announce a special guest, songstress Lorraine Feather!

ABOUT LYRICIZE WORKSHOP
Started in 2019 under the name “Storytellers Workshop NYC” and now renamed “Lyricize Workshop,” Monday Michiru offers her experience and insights to lyric writing in a series of workshops. Each workshop session involve four weekly 2-hour sessions (new zoom format which will be 1-hour sessions) where lyrics are analyzed, inspirations are shared, and participants are given writing exercises to unleash their stories in a creative environment.
