| 4/21/2018 11:29:42 AM - Ah! The smell in the air is absolutely intoxicating! Sorry for those who have hay fever, but I gotta tell ya, I love the Spring air. Okay, onto the latest news:
Monday Michiru "Routes" Live in Japan DVD to be Released JULY 5, 2006! -- Wow, this is really something, I'm absolutely thrilled. Our recent tour to Japan had me trying out a new unit that ended up being really fantastic and even though there were only 4 of us on stage, we tore it up sonically! Geneon will be releasing it in just a little over a month. In it, we have many songs from "Routes" and also some old favorites such as "Sunshine After the Rain," "You Make Me," "Play It By Ear," "Yellow Bird," etc. I hope you'll check it out.

Underground Soul Compilation -- I mentioned this in my last newsletter -- my song "Philosophy Road" got picked up for this compilation which will be released on June 19th by Exceptional Records in the UK. I'm in good company, which includes songs by Silhouette Brown, V featuring Jill Scott, Positive Flow featuring Donna Gardier, etc.
Downbeat Article -- I remember reading this magazine from way back when I was a kid, so you can imagine my excitement in having an article on myself and my album "Routes" in here. In the recent June issue with Elvis Costello and Allen Toussaint on the cover.
Organissimo.org -- A friend tipped me on this website after she discovered a forum on me started by a pretty hardcore fan, who later sent me a very sweet note as well. Feel like putting in your 2 cents? Go to organissimo.org, hit the "forum" link, then "Artist" link, and scroll 'til you see my name. There's some interesting writes on other artists as well.
Part Time Heroes Collaboration -- I recently paid back these very talented artists from the U.K. after they did a remix of my track, "Hung Up," by co-writing and singing on a track of their's, which we've entitled "You Don't Know." It's now in the mixing stage and I believe the boys have gotten picked up for an EP release in Japan (more details later). Very talented guys, like a jazzier Zero 7, with a lot of supporters, including Gilles Peterson. A name to watch out for.
Etc. -- I've been keeping my hands and mind in a few pots. For one, I have been helping my husband, Alex Sipiagin, with the launch of his new ArtistShare project and website. Check out: http://alexsipiagin.artistshare.com
and later in the week check out his website: www.alexsipiagin.com
This is going to be a very exciting project for him and for myself, as he has asked me to not only help out on the administrative side, but also to do some drum programming, so to be able to contribute to a musical project that is brained by such a talent as himself is going to be a great learning experience for me.
We also have a performance coming up with the band in Japan on July 23 at the Honmonji Music Festival in Tokyo. This is a very special Shrine tucked away in the hills just outside the metropolitan area with a majestic bell which they ring at a certain time every night regardless of what's happening.
