 |  |  | | | |  | |  | |  | NEXUS ALBUM FROM ARTISTSHARE FLOW PROJECT ALMOST READY! | Spring fever has hit this artist hard and I am in quite the fevered state! First and foremost, finishing up the NEXUS recording for my FLOW PROJECT! We are another few days left in the studio and then mastering on May 13th. If I may say so myself, it's a killer album! For my Flow Project participants, thank you for being a part and I hope you're looking forward to the outcome; for the rest of you, look out for the download available from May 14, and the CD at the end of the month.
I also have a couple of lives in the U.S. -- May 15 at SOBs in NYC, and June 14 at Bohemian Caverns in DC. I'll be trying out the new material as well as resurrecting some older stuff, and again it's a killer band: David Kikoski on keys, Fima Ephron on bass, Adrian Harpham on drums, and Seamus Blake on sax in NY and Alex Sipiagin on trumpet in DC -- watch out! | | | | |  | Monday Michiru Live DVD Released July 5, 2006! | Well, this is a first for me and I'm very excited. While on our "Routes" Spring Japan tour, we recorded for DVD our performance at the Liquid Room in Tokyo, which Geneon released on July 5th. I tried out a new unit with Genta on drums, Henry Hey on keyboards and computers, my husband of course on trumpet and flugelhorn, and myself. Where's the bass you ask? We mixed live performance with pre-recorded tracks, and with all my doubts and fears, it actually came off pretty darn cool!

| | | | |  | "Routes" | This is what it's all about...this website, the ArtistShare projects...released in December 2005, the participants who have been in on it from the beginning (and let there be no mistake, without them this album would NEVER have been made!) have gotten their copies, either on CD or vinyl (some both!) and I have gotten wonderful responses. It's been released in Japan as well in February this year and spent 2 weeks at #1 in HMV in Shibuya, Tokyo; pretty cool. Since then it's also been released in Indonesia. But it's only here that you can get the whole experience, from conceptualization, inspirations, demos, studio blogs, picture galleries, rehearsals, videos, live performances, etc.

Check out Adventures Into Monday's Gastronomic World | Okay, when I ventured on this tangent, I thought the people at ArtistShare was REALLY going to think I was bonkers. And hey, maybe I am. But you know what? I've always felt that cooking and making music come from the same energy, and my cooking and music definitely are of the same strain: a little of this, a little of that, SORT OF seems to be one style, but has a little twist to it. Or, as I like to call it, nu fusion. Sounds cool in cooking, not as cool in music, but whatever. Fortunately the folks at ArtistShare thought it was a cute idea. Who knows, maybe a cookbook in the future?
So every month (or week? -- we'll see how I keep up), I'm going to come up with one of my recipes for y'all to check out. They're usually simple and passes the test (of my husband and me, that is).
